Chip Card Nightmares?

As a consumer, I've noticed that EMV/Chip card transaction are slower.  As a payments industry consultant, I know EMV transactions are more secure for retail transactions but do nothing for online transactions.  EMV transactions will get faster and ubiquitous in retail.  As the following article from the WSJ argues, mobile payments will speed the adoption -
